Kramer

James W. Kramer, 86, of Valencia died peacefully Monday in the comfort of his home.

Born Oct. 2, 1923, in Valencia, he was the son of the late George and Pearl Kramer.

He was a decorated World War II veteran who proudly answered his country's call to duty by providing ammunition and supplies to his fellow comrades. He served with the 204th Anti-Aircraft Battalion, from Normandy, the Ardennes and the Battle of the Bulge and in Central Europe.

James was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. In addition, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, woodworking and especially camping.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Jackson) Kramer, who he married Jan. 9, 1980. He is survived by two daughters, Sylva Schmitt of Penn Hills and Frances (Stephen) Dodd of Florida; a sister, Myrtle; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepsons and a stepdaughter.

In 1978, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (Sausman) Kramer. In addition, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.

<B>KRAMER</B> — There will be no visitation. A memorial service for James W. Kramer, who died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Community Church of Mars, 558 Pittsburgh St., Mars.
