VFW Post 249 presentation on Butler troops in WWI
An America 250 event will highlight the stories of Butler County soldiers who served the country honorably in France during World War I.
Local historian Deb Kruger and the Butler County Historical Society will give a presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17, at the Joseph T. Black VFW Post 249, at 429 W. Jefferson St.
The presentation will trace Butler’s soldiers experiences, from their training in Pennsylvania to their service and daily lives on the western front.
The focus of the talk will be local soldiers Joseph T. Black, Frederick O. Blankenship and Lester Ogilvie.
