1 dead, another flown to hospital following motorcycle crash
One person died and another person was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital following a Sunday evening, April 12, crash between a motorcycle and another vehicle near the intersection of Chicora and Oneida Valley roads.
The Summit Township intersection and nearby ramps to Route 422 were closed as first responders reacted to the crash, reported at 8:38 p.m.
Calls to dispatch indicated two motorcycle riders were trapped under the other vehicle. Reports indicated a male was unresponsive at the scene.
One person was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian.
The coroner’s office was then later notified to respond to the scene.
Oneida Valley Road would be closed at its intersection with Hendricks Road. The ramps to Route 422 would also be shut down shortly after the crash.
The roads remained closed at 11 p.m. Sunday.
