KC home runs help Gremlins edge GC, 7-6

Alyssa Stitt and Mackenzie Dunn each hit home runs as the Karns City softball team rallied to tie the game with a pair of runs in the sixth and seventh innings and won it in the 10th, 7-6, over Grove City Tuesday afternoon.

Stitt went 3-for-3 and also doubled twice and drove in three.

Dunn also had three RBI.

Logan Byers got the win in relief of Dunn, pitching five innings and surrendering just one unearned run.

The win was the second in two days that came down to the wire for the Gremlins (10-0).

Jack Bartek scattered four hits over seven innings as Knoch downed Mt. Pleasant, 3-1.

Isaac Love had a pair of hits and Guy DeLeonardis drove in two runs for the Knights (7-1, 3-1).

Ethan Sloane, Sean McGill, Braden Tristiani and Isaac Roddy also had hits for Knoch.

Track and Field

Hannah Burgoon won three individual events — the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs — as the Moniteau girls edged A-C Valley, 75-74.

Hailey Campbell also won three events for the Warriors.

Olivia Boocks, Baylee Blauser and Madelyn Dittman paced the A-C Valley effort.

The Moniteau boys cruised to a 106-43 win.

Anna Kadlubek won the 100, 200, 400 and anchored the winning 1,6000-relay as the Slippery Rock girls rolled to a 127-15 victory over Sharon.

The Slippery Rock boys also won impressively, 119-30 over Sharon and 99-51 over George Junior Republic.
