Paving payments OK'd
Butler City Council approved payments for paving Thursday at a meeting at the city building.
A motion was approved to accept a bid from Wiest Asphalt Products & Paving for $123,602 for the 2016 Street Paving Project after review by the municipal engineer.
Another motion, this one to accept a bid from Shields Asphalt Paving for $45,513 for the 2016 Curbs Ramps and Sidewalks Project after review by the municipal engineer, also was accepted.
The streets that will be paved by Wiest are:
West Diamond Street, from Madison Street to Chestnut Street; Spruce Street, from First Street to Second Street; East Penn Street, from Main Street to McKean Street and from Franklin Street to Elm Street; North Sixth Avenue, from West New Castle Street to West Penn Street; Old New Castle Street, from Eighth Street to Hansen Avenue and from Hansen Avenue to Red Rose Street; and Eisler Street, from East Pearl Street to Helm Street.
The Redevelopment Authority will pave Heim Avenue, from Zeigler Avenue to Martin Street; Brugh Avenue, from Fairview Street to Walker Avenue; Pleasantview Avenue; East Boyd Avenue to Stone Street; and Hickory Street, Heim Avenue to Slagle Avenue.
In-house paving will be done on Woodlawn Avenue, Goldwood Avenue, Jackson Street, from North Street to Brady Street and Brady Street to Penn Street, and in the alley between Oak Street and Monroe Street.
Other streets are to be named. Crack sealing on Butler streets will be done from April 7 to 19.
