Boylan Funeral Home in Cranberry approved to expand footprint
Boylan Funeral Home on Wisconsin Avenue in Cranberry Township is planning a substantial addition to its building and parking area.
The expansion will increase the footprint of the current structure by 8,700 square feet, more than doubling its current size.
The new space will house two upgraded viewing areas to replace two smaller viewing areas in the current funeral home. The existing building will be converted into office space.
The plans, which were approved March 30 by the township’s planning advisory commission, also call for the addition of 51 parking spaces, boosting the funeral home’s total to 97.
Jonathan Garczewski, project manager for Gateway Engineers, said the project has been in the works for at least a decade and was previously approved.
“(Mr. Boylan is) ready to get this project up and running,” Garczewski said. “As soon as we get approvals, he's ready to start construction.”
The Cranberry site is one of five Boylan locations. The others are located in Connoquenessing Township, Evans City and two are in Zelienople.
