Shelby Barnett tossed a one-hitter and struck out five Tuesday as the Butler softball team defeated Fox Chapel, 2-0.

The Foxes' lone hit was a fourth-inning double. The Golden Tornado scored both of their runs in the first inning.

Autumn Pettinato had three hits for Butler while Makenna Negkley and Katie White added two each.

Dennis Goodwine had 15 kills, but Butler dropped a 3-0 decision at Shaler. Game scores were 13-25, 22-25, 22-25.Logan Donnel had 19 digs and Jordan Ray 19 assists for the Golden Tornado (5-9, 3-6), who host North Hills Thursday.
