Music, theater, dance and magic highlight the 2008-09 Performing Arts Series at Butler County Community College.

Shows include:

• The Dixie Hummingbirds, with the sounds that backed up Paul Simon's "Love Me Like a Rock," 8 p.m. Sept. 20

• The National Players in Shakespeare's "As You Like It," 8 p.m. Oct. 4

• Simple Gifts, folk music, 8 p.m. Nov. 1

• Pittsburgh Philharmonic Holiday Concert, 8 p.m. Dec. 12

• The Magic of Tim Kutch, 8 p.m. Jan. 24

• The McDades, Celtic-rooted music fused with jazz improvisation and global rhythms, 8 p.m. Feb. 13

• The Shelley Oliver Tap Dancers with the David Leonhardt Jazz Group, 8 p.m. March 7

• Leon Bates, pianist, 3 p.m. April 26.

Season tickets cost $120 for all eight shows. A Select Season pass for any four shows costs $65. Single show ticket prices will be $18 in advance and $22 at the door; students still pay $10.
