Norman ‘Lee’ Sherman

Norman “Lee” Sherman, 75, of Butler, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, several months after accepting the diagnosis of lung cancer.

Born Aug. 26, 1950, in Butler, Lee was a son of the late Ellen Protzman Sherman and Norman E. Sherman.

Lee attended Butler High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving two tours of duty during the Vietnam conflict. He went on to be employed as a fire sprinkler expert.

Lee was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed many miles on his Harley. He loved creatures both big and small, especially his Doberman pinschers. Anyone who knew Lee was aware of his opinion on any topic of discussion.

He is survived by his loving companion, Carla McMillen, of Butler; Carla’s children, Melissa Minehart, of Kittanning, and Justin McMillen, of Florence, Ky.; and Carla’s grandson, Ian Minehart, of Butler.

He is also survived by two brothers, John Sherman and his wife, Kathleen, of Fenelton, and David Sherman (Linda Caccamo), of Butler; two sisters, Barbara Dasal, of Tennessee, and Mary Cay Walchesky and her husband, Stan, of Cabot; five nephews; one niece and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bob Dasal.

SHERMAN — There will be no visitation or services for Norman “Lee” Sherman, who died Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Donations in memory of Lee Sherman may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America at vva.org.
