Gilbert ‘Skip’ Polliard

Gilbert Max “Skip” Polliard, 92, of Prospect, died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Sunnyview Nursing Center in Butler.

He was born in Butler on May 15, 1933, and was the son of Max and Grace Carnahan.

He had worked at AK Steel in Butler and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Mount Nebo Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post No. 852 in Harrisville and the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, boating and traveling. He loved to tinker around in his garage.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille E. Polliard, whom he married in August 1972; two sons, Alan Polliard and Daniel Polliard; one daughter, Wendy (David) Edwards; one stepbrother, Robert (Glenda) Carnahan; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

POLLIARD — A private memorial service for Gilbert Max “Skip” Polliard, who died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, was held on Tuesday, April 1, at JAY BRYAN FUNERAL HOME, Prospect, with the Rev. Jason Sinagra, of Mount Nebo Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Donations may be made in Gilbert’s memory to St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT 59004.
