Robert F. Ganter Sr.

Robert F. Ganter Sr., 78, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Sunday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Tarrs, Westmoreland County, May 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Frederick and Evelyn Cunnard Ganter.

Mr. Ganter was on the custodial staff for Canada Dry and 7-UP and later for the Mars School District at the high school.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills.

Surviving are his wife, Yolanda Falvo Ganter, who he married Nov. 28, 1953; a daughter, Renee Ganter (Regis Frank) of Butler; five sons, Robert F. Ganter Jr. (Carolyn) of Chicora, Rick Ganter (Peg) of Mars, Rodney Ganter (Cynthia) of Tennessee, and Randall Ganter (Kelly) and Russell Ganter (Danette) both of Valencia; a brother, Richard Ganter (Dolores) of Ambridge; 17 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

<B>GANTER </B>— Friends of Robert F. Ganter Sr., who died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, Wednesday at 10 a.m., with the Rev.
