Hutchins

Donald Eugene Hutchins, 72, of Harmony, died Friday, March 27, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness. He was born in Ellwood City on Oct. 13, 1953, and was the son of Preston and Dorothy J. Berry Hutchins.

Donald had worked in the building construction business and had worked for the Lutz & Myers Company in Ellwood City. Donald was a lifetime member of the Portersville Volunteer Fire Department and he also held many positions for Muddy Creek Township. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and tinkering with vehicles. He also enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Rankin Hutchins, whom he married July 14, 2001; one son, Daniel (Crystal) Hutchins, of Mercer; one brother, Preston (Robin) Hutchins, of Flinton, Pa.; two sisters, Martha (Bill) Bortz, of Mt. Chestnut, and Kathy (Kevin) Gallagher, of Gerard, Ohio; three grandchildren, Cameron, Kaleb and Carter Hutchins; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

HUTCHINS — Visitation for Donald Eugene Hutchins, who died Friday, March 27, 2026, will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday April 1, at JAY BRYAN FUNERAL HOME, 443 Main St., Prospect.

A celebration of life will follow at 6 p.m. at Portersville EMS Building.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Portersville Volunteer Fire Department.
