Shemanski sparks Freeport soccer

Sidney Shemanski scored three goals and added two assists as the Freeport girls soccer team rolled to a 6-0 win over Highlands in the season-opener Wednesday night.

Emma Check added two goals and an assist and Aleah Parison scored and added an assist in the win

Maddy Zarichnak earned the shutout in goal for the Yellowjackets.

— McKenna Martin scored two goals for the Gremlins (2-0). Emma Dailey, Lexi Moore and McKenna Lavella added one each.Ally Fennell contributed a pair of assists. Karns City hosts Brookville at 10 a.m. Saturday.
