Element Cafe reopens
The Element Cafe, 232 S. Main St., reopened Tuesday under new management.
Matt Clement and Bruce Beichner bought the restaurant and renewed its lease.
Beichner said he and Clement were frequent patrons at the former cafe, and wanted to keep it going.
“We wanted a place to keep drinking coffee,” he said.
The cafe closed at the end of January after its previous parent company, JPC Event Group of New Castle, opted not to renew its lease.
Beichner said they are keeping the restaurant much the way it was, although they are adding a few new menu options.
The owners also will promote more of a Butler County theme to the cafe. They’ve added artwork from a local artist, and hope to create a Butler County hall of fame on a wall.
Both Beichner and Clement are graduates of Butler High School and live in the county.
“We’re trying to do it all through Butler County,” Beichner said.
Beichner said each of the cafe’s former employees were offered jobs, although some declined. He expects the cafe will have about 10 employees.
The cafe will have a grand opening Friday.
