According to the Huffington Post date May 21, 2012; over 8000 pounds of baled marijuana was found floating in Dana Bay, Orange County, CA.

Local news sources declared the hours’ long recovery to be the highest tide ever recorded in the County.

Recovery efforts were hampered by an unnatural feeding frenzy that effected large schools of fish. The water boiled with smaller fish trying to evade the more ravenous species; an angler’s paradise but a nuisance to the DEA.

What appeared to be a rapidly formed environmental group picketed on the beach with signs reading, “Save the Bales.” This further complicated an already chaotic scene. As the reporter slowly left the Dana Bay area she stated that the ongoing recovery was “really, really, really unbelievably beautiful.”
