Butler sophomore Paige Scott tied for fifth place with an 81 Wednesday at the WPIAL Class AAA girls golf championship at Diamond Run Golf Club.

The effort advances her to the Western Regional, scheduled Oct. 15.

Mars junior Victoria Witouski carded a 92 and tied for 22nd out of 32 participants.

North Allegheny's Isabella Walter earned the district title with a 76.

In the Class AA championship, North Catholic senior Madie Smithco, who was the defending WPIAL and PIAA champion, was unable to play due to illness.
