Phyllis Marie Means Ansell, 88, of Prospect, peacefully passed away Thursday evening, March 5, 2026, at Newhaven Court at Clearview, Butler.

Born Oct. 16, 1937, in Scott Haven, Westmoreland County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth Miller Means.

She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler.

Phyllis enjoyed collecting and watching hummingbirds.

She is survived by her children, Mark Ansell and Keith (Judy) Ansell, both of Prospect; two granddaughters, Amanda (Michael) Bedner, of Washington, Pa., and Lauren (Russ) Gibbons, of Verona; three great-grandchildren, Adelynn, Owen and Brook; and her brother, Richard Means, of Scottdale, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ansell, whom she married June 14, 1957, and who passed away April 17, 2025; an infant brother; and her brother, Clyde Means Jr.

ANSELL — Visitation for Phyllis Marie Means Ansell, who died Thursday, March 5, 2026, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dawn Lynn Check, her church pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
