Virginia Vegas, 92, of Grove City, and formerly of Harrisville, passed away at Orchard Manor in Grove City on Friday, March 6, 2026.

She was born in Forestville on July 6, 1933, to Nikola Luke and Amelia Zaborski Luke.

She married Ralph C. Vegas on Oct. 25, 1952, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1956.

She worked as a dental assistant for over 32 years, spending her time in the veterans hospital system located at Aspinwall and Oakland. Virginia was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed doing crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by several nieces, including Shirley (Larry N). Osburn, of Zelienople.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Ralphena A. (Vegas) Rebecco; six sisters, Kate, Ameilia, Barbara, Anna, Helen and Mary; and three brothers, John, Steve and Nicholas Luke.

VEGAS — The family of Virginia Vegas, who died Friday, March 6, 2026, will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

There will be a funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the funeral home, led by the Rev. Matthew Bupp, hospice chaplain.

Interment will follow at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
