Regis ‘Ron’ Ryan
Regis “Ron” Lewis Ryan, born May 30, 1948, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, in Lincoln, Neb., at the age of 77.
Ron grew up in Chicora, the youngest of 11 children. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, with his final station at Hickam Air Force Base in Oahu, Hawaii, where he met his wife, Mary.
Ron spent his professional life as a civil servant in the federal government. He concluded his tenure with the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. To his family and his many treasured friends, he was known as “Boss.” He will be remembered fondly for his humility and his humor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Leah (Traffas) Ryan; his children, Julie (Ryan) Evans and husband, Craig, William Ryan and wife, Teresita (Chavez) Ryan, Rory Ryan and wife, Christie (Smith) Ryan, and Elizabeth (Ryan) Cano and husband, Andrew; his 10 beloved grandchildren; and his extended family and many friends.
Burial will be in Omaha National Cemetery.
