Konda

Dr. Sangeetha Konda of Advanced OB/GYN Associates joined the medical staff at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Konda completed an internship at the Harrisburg Family Practice Residency Program at Pinnacle Health and her residency at Penn State University's Hershey Medical Center, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.

She completed an externship at Dunn-Erwin Medical Center in Erwin, N.C., and retains research experience in obstetrics and gynecology. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology.

She will treat patients in Butler at 901 E. Brady St. and at the BHS WholeHealth site in the Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA, 2001 Ehrman Road, Cranberry Township.

Alysia Savannah of Butler was named director of the Gateway Rehab Corrections program in Braddock.Before this position, she was the clinical manager at Liberty Station, Gateway's halfway house for adolescent males in Bridgeville.Gateway Braddock, which is part of the Gateway Rehab Corrections Division, is an all-male work-release corrections program that helps individuals who have legal difficulties as a result of their abuse of alcohol and other drugs return to productive lives.Savannah taught school for 12 years and is certified as both an addiction counselor diplomate and an International Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diplomate.She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Clarion University and her master's degree in school counseling from Slippery Rock University. She expects to graduate from Capella University in 2010 with a doctoral degree in psychology.

CARLISLE — EMBARQ named Gerald Piper as vice president and general manager for Pennsylvania and New Jersey.His office is in Carlisle.Piper started his career with United Telephone of Pennsylvania in 1987. He held several positions in Carlisle, Mansfield, Ohio, and Overland Park, Kan., before moving to Wake Forest, N.C., to manage residential sales and service call centers for EMBARQ.He most recently was in Bristol, Tenn., and led network services field operations in Virginia, Tennessee, western North Carolina and western South Carolina.Piper has a master's degree in business administration from Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Md., and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg.
