Pioneers rout CCAC twice
The Butler County Community College softball team had a big day on Sunday.
The Pioneers routed the Community College of Beaver County 20-0 and 16-0 in a doubleheader.
In the first game, Knoch graduates Sydney Natili, Abby Black and Casey Kretzer keyed the victory.
Natili struck out six and didn't walk a batter in five innings to get the win.
Black had a pair of hits, scored four runs and drove in two and Kretzer had three hits, including a double, scored twice and had two RBI.
Amber Izzo went 4-for-4 with a double, scored four times and drove in three to complete the rout for BC3 (4-0).
In the second game, Black was at it again with a pair of hits and three RBI. Kretzer added a triple, single, two runs scored and three RBI.
Mackenzie Craig, a Karns City grad who had never played softball before, also came up big at the plate with two hits and three RBI.
Black also got the win in the circle and Izzo had two hits and drove in two.
