Police: Butler man attaches tracker to woman’s vehicle

A Butler man is accused of attaching a tracker to a woman’s vehicle in Summit Township.

Randy Lee Shuler, 40, was charged Tuesday, Feb. 10 by state police with misdemeanor stalking following an incident in June 2024.

The woman contacted police when she discovered a tracking device on her vehicle. The device was placed under her vehicle in a conspicuous location with tape covering an indicator light.

She became suspicious of Shuler when he would mention her location at various times. The woman said her relationship with Shuler had been hostile.

Police checked the device and found information leading back to Shuler.

Shuler’s preliminary hearing is schedule for May 12 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
