Robert ‘Bob’ Golden Jr.

Golden

Robert “Bob” Golden Jr., aka “Bobby G” and “Skippy,” passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, in Florida.

He was born March 22, 1957, in Roswell, N.M.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He earned his engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He later became a successful business co-owner of Golden Equipment Company and Municipal Contracting, companies founded by his father, alongside his brother, Mark.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie; his sons, Zacchary (Morgan) and Mitchell; his grandchildren, Madelynn, Noelle and Henry; and his stepmother, Susan Golden. He also leaves behind his brother, Mark (Maureen); his sister, Sue Baker (Don); and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Golden Sr.

His grandchildren were his greatest joy and he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether it was playing games, taking golf cart rides, boating, teaching them to fish or simply “hanging out with Pappy,” he created lasting memories.

Bob had a deep love for the water, enjoying boating on the river in East Brady and fishing for stripers in Moraine. His annual fishing trips to the Thousand Islands were the highlight of the summer. A lifelong, very passionate Steelers fan and season ticket holder, his Sundays in the fall were always dedicated to cheering on his team.

Bob was happiest when surrounded by his dear friends and family, whether he was fishing, grilling, golfing, watching a Bucs game or simply napping on the porch. He leaves behind a legacy of so many memories, laughs and stories.

Please join us for a celebration of Bob’s life from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at the Glen Eden Barn, 229 Dufford Road, Evans City.

Memorial donations may be made to the Evans City Food Pantry.
