Donald Bicker

Bicker

Donald Edward Bicker, 93, of Sherrett, Pa., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026.

Born Feb. 17, 1932, in Cabot, he was the son of the late Amos and Ruth Ewing Bicker.

Don grew up on the family farm and had a deep knowledge of and passion for farming, that he shared with his children and grandchildren. He was employed at Penn-Dixie Cement and Moonlight Mushrooms. He served in Greenland during the Korean War, as a radio operator for the U.S. Army.

Returning from the service, he resumed his employment at Penn-Dixie where he met his wife, Patricia Burrows. Don said it was love at first sight and they got married Aug. 11, 1956, and were blessed with 60 wonderful years of marriage. Their home was filled with good food, laughter, love and everyone was welcomed at their door.

Don was known as “Pops” and will be remembered for his kindness, his loving and giving heart, his devotion to his family and to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

His memory will forever live on and flourish in his children, Donald Richard (Debbie) Bicker, of Dayton, Pa., Frederick W. (Debbie) Bicker, of Sarver, and Judy Hollobaugh, of Sherrett; a special niece, Dena (Charles) Hays; his sisters, Anna Freeling and Ruth Gross, both of Cabot; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved and cherished.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, on Feb. 28, 2017.

A very special thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice, as they lovingly took care of Pops during these last 10 months. Pops adored his caregivers, Niki, Tammy, Patty and Cheryl. And to the Embassy of Saxonburg for the love, care and kindness they gave to Pops on his respite stays. They were all a gift from the Lord.

“To God be the glory, great things he hath done!” He blessed this dear family with a man who loved the Lord and showed that love through repentance, forgiveness and salvation. Praise the Lord for the Lord is good, amen.
