Oakmont Water Authority expansion to cover new development in Middlesex Township

MIDDLESEX TWP — Township supervisors approved a motion during its work session Wednesday, Feb. 4, to allow Oakmont Water Authority to run additional underground lines in the township.

The expansion will cover the Gray Hawk residential development, which is under construction just off Overbrook Road.

“Oakmont Water Authority was approached by the developer of the Grey Hawk development to see if they could service them,” township manager Jeffrey Winkle said. “So then Oakmont contacted the township and said, ‘We’d like to run additional water lines within your township.’ That necessitated the agreement.”

Winkle said Oakmont Water Authority already has a presence in the township, servicing developments in the eastern part of the township such as the Blackhawk community. Other portions of the township are served by the Municipal Water Authority of Adams Township.

The Oakmont Water Authority also services Indiana and West Deer townships, as well as Oakmont and Verona boroughs, and parts of Penn Hills Township and Plum Borough.
