Miller Minutes: Happy Super Bowl weekend!
The Super Bowl is this weekend, which is of no consequence to me. This is a column about arts and entertainment, after all.
However, as an aspiring Ina Garten, I took it upon myself to use this event as an excuse to celebrate my own “Souper Bowl.”
The event plays out as follows — I make soup (and homemade bread, of course) and invite my most artistic friends over to eat while actively ignoring the game. You can only secure an invitation if you don’t care about football (but want the Patriots to lose) and are interested in how the halftime show will shape culture for the next year.
If none of this sounds exciting to you, that’s OK. This is part of what makes event planning so fun and exciting — the guest list makes the party.
Regardless of background, everyone will have in common their dislike of football.
The point of hosting events is to foster connections between like-minded people. It doesn’t matter where they’ve been, or where they are going afterward. It only matters that they want to be there and want to experience whatever the event is about.
The same can be said of any event in Butler County. You’re sure to make a friend no matter where you go. So, take a look at what’s going on below (or maybe start planning a Souper Bowl of your own).
