The Cooper Cabin will have a free Heritage Fest on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the cabin, 199 Cooper Road in Winfield Township. The event is sponsored by the Butler County Historical Society.

Members of Captain William Trent Company will have a living history display. Children can check out wooden muskets, and there will be actual musket firings by Trents Company.

There also will be tours of the cabin, plus book signings by mother and son authors LuAnn Cherry and Jason Cherry.
