Butler girl bowlers finish in 3rd place

The Butler girls bowling team finished third overall behind champion Greensburg Salem and runner-up Shaler Thursday at the WPIBL championships at Princess Lanes.

Madison Weiland rolled a 568 series with a high game of 202 and Lauren Bash had a 545 series to pace the Golden Tornado.

The Butler boys were fifth. Both teams move on to the Western Regional Championship.

Rifle

Andrew Arbanas placed second with a score of 200-19x at the WPIAL individual championships.

Alex Stamm placed 16th for the Golden Tornado.

The top 16 advanced to the state competition next week in Washington, Pa.

Girls Basketball

Rachel Cullen poured in 23 points as A-C Valley downed Union 43-33 in this game from Wednesday.

Hailey Kriebel paced Union with nine.
