Slippery Rock University’s softball team earned four first-place votes, beating out bitter rival Indiana (Pa.) as the top team in the PSAC West in the conference’s preseason coaches poll Thursday.
The Rock lost 2025 PSAC West Pitcher of the Year Alexsa Hurd, but returns second-team all-conference selections Sydney Brown and Shaylyn Shall.
East Stroudsburg (six) was voted the top team in the PSAC East.
After going 31-19 (16-12 in conference play) last year, Jeff Messer’s Slippery Rock University baseball team was voted second in the PSAC West’s preseason baseball poll Thursday.
The Rock touts NCBWA preseason All-Atlantic Region starting pitcher Nate Malak, a Seneca Valley graduate.
Seton Hill was the only team voted ahead of SRU.
