Helen ‘Polly’ Rodgers
Helen “Polly” Rodgers, 99, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at UPMC Mercy after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 7, 1926, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt Stevenson and the late Erla (Cochran) Stevenson.
Polly retired after working for the Butler Area School District food service, where she worked in the cafeteria and later as a baker. She loved spending time with her friends and family. Polly also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons, John Rodgers and his wife, Joyce, of Bluffton, S.C., and Dennis Rodgers and his wife, Chris, of Butler; five grandchildren, JoDe, Timothy, Scott, David and Barry; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Rodgers, whom she married Aug. 29, 1959, and who passed away March 14, 2007; two brothers, Paul and Robert; and her sister, Evelyn.
RODGERS — Friends and family of Helen “Polly” Rodgers, who died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Merry Meloy officiating.
She will be laid to rest privately in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
