Adams Township tables action on planned Matilda Fields development
ADAMS TWP — Supervisors tabled a vote to grant tentative approval to plans for the Matilda Fields residential development during their meeting on Monday night, Jan. 26.
The parcel to be used for the planned residential development consists of 81 acres located between Forsythe and Mars/Evans City roads. Plans are for the development to consist of 103 single-family homes and 79 townhouses when finished.
Plans for Matilda Fields have bounced back and forth between the developers and the township’s planning commission since 2024.
The board of supervisors granted the developers a 30-day extension to submit modified plans. However, a vote on tentative approval is expected at the board’s next scheduled meeting on Monday, Feb. 9.
According to code enforcement officer Joe Julian, the major sticking point was a suggestion from the board of supervisors to add a buffer fence between the development and a neighboring agricultural property for safety purposes. This was in response to a suggestion from a resident during a public hearing which preceded the board of supervisors hearing.
