Janet J. Bandura, 75, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on Aug. 8, 1950, in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Lehrman) Gerulis.

She was devoted to her family, and was known for her love of cooking, especially her signature salad. Janet was an incredible mother and grandmother. Above all, Janet loved the life she shared with her husband, her best friend.

Janet was preceded in death by her son, Jason Esper. She carried a deep love and longing for him and passed away on his birthday, a moment many see as a reunion of hearts.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas M. Bandura; her daughters, Kayla (Brad) Johnson, of Cranberry, and Kelly (Josh) Vehar, of Bridgeville; her nephew, William (Danielle) Coleman and their family, of Fox Chapel; her grandchildren, Brax, Grace, Luka, Cassidy, and Emma; her sister, Mimi Gerulis, of West Sunbury; and her brother, John (Dianne) Gerulis, of Siesta Key, Fla.; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

BANDURA — Friends of Janet J. Bandura, who died Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 p.m. until the time of the blessing service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with her nephew, Father Tyler J. Bandura, V.F., officiating.

Burial will be private.
