Butler soccer teams get wins
BUTLER TWP — Butler’s boys and girls varsity soccer teams emerged victorious Saturday during the Golden Tornado’s annual SoccerFest.
Butler’s boys (4-1-1) defeated Knoch, 6-1, as Landon Mohney and Jack Beneigh both had two goals and an assist. Cody Lubinsky and Noah Nichols had a goal each.
Evan Fetter, Jonah Doerr, Andrew Lucas and Nick Kilgore all had assists for the Tornado, who host North Hills Monday.
Knoch (1-4) hosts Armstrong Monday.
Butler’s girls remained unbeaten, moving to 5-0 with a 3-2 victory over Seneca Valley. Chloe Weiland scored two goals for the Tornado.
All five of the Tornado girls’ wins have come in section competition.
Butler hosts Kiski Area Tuesday while Seneca Valley (1-1) travels to Penn-Trafford. The Raiders’ girls soccer campaign only started last week.
