SR's Wolak joins PIAA golf tourney

Slippery Rock sophomore Jacob Wolak carded an 82-76-152 to place fourth overall at the District 10 Boys Golf Tournament at Meadville Country Club over the weekend.

Wolak qualified for the PIAA Championship as the top six golfers advanced.

The PIAA tourney will be Oct. 19 in York. The western regional at Tom's Run this year was bypassed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wolak was District 10 Region 2 Player of the Year this season with a 76.3 average.

Myles MCCully scored the winning goal with 4:42 left in the second overtime as Karns City defeated Slippery Rock, 3-2.Owen Collwell scored the tying goal for the Gremlins with 2:35 left in regulation. Dakota King also scored for KC.Slippery Rock received goals from Ethan Folmer and Nick Kingerski.

Slippery Rock posted a 3-0 shutout of Karns City.
