Union boys basketball edges A-C Valley; Mars’ Alexis Cashdollar shines in defeat: Roundup

Jorge Reyes and Jackson Renwick both netted 14 points, and Union outlasted A-C Valley 47-46 in Foxburg on Monday.

The Golden Knights improved to 4-10 with the victory.

Ryan Armstrong drained four 3-pointers for the Falcons. His 12 points tied for the team lead with Joe Rapp. Noah Ithen added 11 points for A-C Valley (2-12), which lost its ninth straight game.

DuBois Area 55, Karns City 31 — No other details were provided from this loss for the Gremlins (9-7).

Girls basketball

Alexis Cashdollar knocked down four 3-pointers, totaling 29 points Monday night to move within 89 points of 1,000 for her career, but Mars lost 53-46 to Pine-Richland.

Burrell 56, Knoch 37 — The Knights (1-14, 1-5 WPIAL Section 1-4A) faced a 32-10 deficit at halftime.

Neah Ewing scored 11 points in defeat, and Jada Burgard added 10.

Keystone 55, Union/A-C Valley 25 — Maddy Dehart scored 25 points for the Falcon Knights (4-9).

North Catholic 53, Freeport 36 — After a slow start, the Trojanettes outscored the Yellowjackets by 19 points over the final three quarters.

Brady Wehner and Sam Weir both sank 14 points for North, and Lauren Reitz had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
