Dawson Cook serves up 22 points in Moniteau boys basketball win; Mars wrestling routs PR: Roundup
Dawson Cook’s 22 points helped power Moniteau boys basketball to a 67-56 victory Monday at Clarion-Limestone.
Fifteen of Cook’s points came in the second half as the Warriors (7-4) won their fourth consecutive game.
Ian Ross added 16 points and Andrew Zepeda 10 in the win.
North Clarion 46, Karns City 44 — The Gremlins dropped their third straight game. A 16-9 deficit in the third quarter did them no favors.
Bryce Galan and Xavier Bartoe both scored nine points for KC (8-6).
Mars’ Beckett Szczesniak (121 pounds), Ben Goehring (127) and Parker Joseph (133) tallied three straight pins for the Planets in a 56-15 rout of Pine-Richland.
Adam Genevro also earned a fall for Mars at 215.
North Allegheny 41, Seneca Valley 27 — The Raiders received pins from Zach Hill (145 pounds), Cooper Beres (189) and Matthew D’Appolonia (215) in this loss to the Tigers.
Knoch 42, North Catholic 24 — No other details were available from this win for the Knights.
In a match that was unopposed by Seneca Valley, Freeport received games of 268 and 215 and a 632 series from Hannah Windows. Kylie McConahy shot games of 214 and 210 for a 609 series.
In the boys match, Chance Evans’ 248-229-202 for a 679 to lead SV to a 7-0 sweep of the Yellowjackets.
Knoch fell to 1-13 on the season with a 63-31 loss to Trinity.
Knoch was led by Neah Ewing’s 12 points.
All seven of Butler’s wins came by forfeit in a 42-17 win over Burrell.
