Actor Timothy Busfield accused of child sex abuse in New Mexico
Authorities in New Mexico issued an arrest warrant Friday for director and Emmy Award-winning actor Timothy Busfield to face a child sex abuse charge.
An investigator with the Albuquerque Police Department filed a criminal complaint in support of the charge, which says a child reported Busfield touched him inappropriately. The acts allegedly occurred on the set of “The Cleaning Lady,” a TV series.
The child said the first incident happened when he was 7; Busfield touched him three or four times. Busfield allegedly touched him five or six times when he was 8.
The child's mother reported to Child Protective Services the abuse occurred between November 2022 and spring 2024.
The arrest warrant said the charge is for two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor.
According to the complaint, the child has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. A social worker documented him saying he has had nightmares about Busfield touching him and woken up scared.
The child was reportedly afraid to tell anyone because Busfield was director of the series and he feared he would get mad at him.
The investigation began in November 2024, when the investigator responded to a call from a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital. The child’s parents had gone there at the recommendation of a law firm, the complaint said.
“The Cleaning Lady” aired for four seasons on Fox. It starred Elodie Yung as a Cambodian doctor who comes to America to get medical treatment for her son, witnesses a mob killing and ends up becoming a cleaner for organized crime.
The show was produced by Warner Bros., which conducted its own investigation into the abuse allegations but was unable to corroborate them.
Busfield is known for appearances in “The West Wing,” and “Thirtysomething.”
He is married to actor Melissa Gilbert.

Jennifer Garner opens up about hardest part of Ben Affleck divorce
It’s a new year and new insights for Jennifer Garner, who’s shedding rare light on her “hard” divorce from Ben Affleck.
Garner — who along with Affleck has three children aged 13 to 20 — found “the actual breaking up of a family is what was hard. Losing a true partnership and friendship was hard.”
The “Alias” alum and Affleck, both 53, tied the knot in June 2005 and finalized their divorce in 2018. Several years later, he reconciled with ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez. Affleck and the pop star, 56, said “I do” in two ceremonies during summer 2022, only for Lopez to file for divorce on their second anniversary.
The divorce was settled on Jan. 6, two days before TMZ reported Affleck had fled to Garner’s home amid the devastating L.A. wildfires.
By March, insiders told Us Weekly that the exes’ “bond” was “the strongest it’s ever been,” while discounting speculation they were heading for a romantic reconciliation.
“Their relationship has evolved into a strong friendship,” one source said at the time, dubbing Garner “a grounding and trusting force in Ben’s life.”
Tech CEO John Miller has long been reported as Garner’s boyfriend, though she remained relatively mum when speaking to Marie Claire, coyly sharing: “I have so much love in my life.”

‘Home Alone’ star Daniel Stern cited for soliciting prostitution over the holidays
“Home Alone” star Daniel Stern tried to ring in the holidays with the help of a pro, according to California police officers who cited the actor for allegedly soliciting prostitution.
The “Wonder Years” alum, 68, was cited on Dec. 10 at a hotel in Camarillo, about 21 miles west of Simi Valley, where he was issued a ticket for trying to hire an escort, according to police documents obtained this weekend by TMZ.
Stern was ultimately not booked, according to the outlet.
Additional details of the police encounter were not disclosed. The Daily News has reached out to a legal representative for Stern.
The actor’s legal snafu came just over two months after he was reportedly hospitalized following an Oct. 7 medical emergency at a home in Somis — about 4 miles outside Camarillo — the specifics of which were not entirely clear.
The Ventura County Fire Department told TMZ shortly thereafter that the “City Slickers” star had been transported to a local hospital, with his rep confirming that he was on the mend.
Younger generations best know the performer-turned-farmer and sculptor from his role in 1990’s “Home Alone” and its 1992 sequel as Marv, half of the thieving duo known as the Wet/Sticky Bandits, alongside Joe Pesci’s Harry.
Stern, a self-described “bit of a homebody,” told People last month that he wouldn’t “leave [his] farm” to commemorate the film’s 35th anniversary.
He did, however, share that he “got a call from the people who own the ‘Home Alone’ house” outside Chicago, who “asked if I would do a sculpture for the house.” He’s settled on a bronze rendition of his character, faced with the tarantula that gets loose in the film.
