Virginia Severino

Virginia T. Severino, 87, of Strongsville, Ohio, formerly of Butler, died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday at the Altenheim Nursing Home in Strongsville.

Born Nov. 27, 1919, in New York, she was the daughter of John and Agnes Black Golden.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Butler Hospital Women's Auxiliary.

Mrs. Severino served in the Navy during World War II and retired from the dietetics department at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Mary Lou) Shumate of Strongsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Evelyn Severino of Wexford; two grandchildren, David and Katherine Severino; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Joseph Severino, who died June 8, 1985,and a brother, Jack.

<B>SEVERINO</B> — Friends of Virginia T. Severino, who died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Monday at the church.Burial will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
