I stink.

Don't get close to me without a gas mask. My stench will make your eyes water.

I couldn't pick a winner out of a lineup of losers. If I had to pick the victors in Las Vegas, I'd be featherless and penniless.

I went 7-4 last week. That's not good enough. Not even close. I continue to get fooled by teams that are as unpredictable as the stock market.

The good news is each week is born anew. Second chances come my way each week and, hopefully, I can put past failures behind me.

I went around and around on this one, weighing the pros and cons of each team. I did research. I simulated the results on a supercomputer and I consulted experts from across the land.And I still couldn't decide.So, I asked myself, "Scoop, what's meaner: a Gremlin or a Warrior?"Again, a wash.So I did the only thing one can do when faced with picking a game pitting teams so evenly matched.I flipped a coin.Moniteau's representative chose heads. Karns City's chose tails.I guess tails does fail sometimes. The Warriors will prevail. Abe Lincoln says so.•

North Allegheny 33, Butler 16. The Tornado's spirit was broken last week. Mine was shattered long ago.•

Pine-Richland 29, Seneca Valley 28. Talk about broken spirit. That's what three successful fake punts run against you will do, as Shaler demonstrated against the Raiders last week.•

Highlands 31, Knoch 15. I never pick the Knights' game right. Good news, Knoch.•

Mars 23, Indiana 21. The Planets' playoff march rolls on.•

Redbank Valley 42, A-C Valley 8. The Battle of the Valley's has a clear winner.•

Punxsutawney 28, Union 12. I'm all out of shadow jokes.•

Freeport 21, Deer Lakes 3. If the Yellowjackets give up a field goal, it will be an upset.•

Meadville 17, Grove City 14. Picking against the Eagles? Really.•

Kittanning 32, Summit Academy 14. Two-game winning streak ends for the Knights.•

That team from New York 36, Slippery Rock 14. I can barely spell it — Canandaigua Academy. I can barely pronounce it, too — Can-an-day-gwa. The Braves are really, really good. They are the defending Section V Class AA champs in New York, have 80 players on their roster and are 6-0 this season.The Rockets might make a game of it, but Canandaigua is too good.
