Butler Police9:36 p.m. Wednesday — Charles B. Blatt, 32, of Butler and Ryan S. Wade, 29, of Summit Township were arrested after a suspected drunken fight on South Monroe Street outside Gorillo’s Pizza.Police said when they got there they found both men “highly intoxicated” and Blatt was bleeding from the nose. He refused medical treatment.According to a police report, when officers tried to speak to Blatt, he used obscenities at them while Wade continued to interfere with the interview. The suspects were eventually taken to the station and placed in holding cells until they sobered up.Police cited Blatt and Wade with public drunkenness.Wednesday — Police charged Michael Paul Kurtzhals, 37, of Butler with shoplifting a pack of batteries, valued at $16, on May 28 from the Rite Aid store on South Main Street. Kurtzhals, who has one prior conviction for shoplifting, is charged with retail theft.5:40 a.m. June 23 — Cars driven by Troy D. Condron, 47, of Ellwood City and Misty M. Jordan, 21, of Butler collided at West Wayne and Upper Shore streets. Jordan suffered minor injuries and both cars had to be towed. Police cited Condron for a stop sign violation.
Butler Twp Police11:46 p.m. Wednesday — Lauren N. Cardona, 26, of Butler allegedly assaulted another woman during a fight in the parking lot of Old Plank Estates. Police charged Cardona with disorderly conduct and harassment.Thursday — Leaann Myers, 52, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence, stemming from a traffic stop about 10:40 p.m. May 29 on Main Street in Lyndora.In addition to charging Myers with DUI, police cited her for driving with suspended vehicle registration, failing to surrender her license plate and driving without insurance.6:20 p.m. Sunday — Donna Mazzanti, 78, of Butler lost control of her car and crashed on Litman Road. She was not injured, but her car had to be towed.
Buffalo Twp Police10:48 p.m. Wednesday — A van driven by Chad Bargerstock, 48, of Winfield Township crashed over a hillside off Monroe Street near the Butler-Freeport Community Trail.Tuesday — Jamie L. Antoszyk, 25, of Saxonburg was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop about 2:15 a.m. June 7 on Route 356 near Smokin’ Toad’s BBQ.Police said they pulled over Antoszyk after they saw her car swerving on the road, crossing the double-yellow lines and nearly hitting a mailbox. This suspect, who smelled of alcohol and appeared impaired, admitted to having “only three drinks,” court documents said.She was eventually arrested after failing field sobriety tests and taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, for a blood test. Toxicology results showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.217 percent, more than 2½ times the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.In addition to driving under the influence, Antoszyk is charged with failing to keep right and careless driving,
Middlesex Twp PoliceTuesday — Daniel Chlebina, 24, of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County, was charged with failing to pay for materials he obtained from a Penn Township business last month for his own landscaping business.Chlebina in May went to United Landscaping on Route 8 and received about 20 yards of mulch and rock for a job he was working on, according to court documents. He agreed to pay the business $542 for the materials when the job was finished.The defendant provided the business his credit card number. But when United Landscaping officials later turned in that number, the payment was denied each time, police said.Chlebina is accused of failing to pay for the materials despite United Landscaping efforts to contact him.On June 24, the suspect’s mother came to the business and tried to make a $300 payment toward her son’s bill; the business, however, declined to take the money because if was not full payment.Chlebina is charged with theft by deception and access device fraud.
Butler County SheriffMonday — Michael S. Christofferson, 27, of Adams Township allegedly provided false information on a background check form to obtain a permit to carry a handgun.Christofferson is accused of giving answers about his criminal record on the concealed carry application that were not truthful and was rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System that is run by the state police.He is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.
State Police, Butler4:25 p.m. Thursday — A 19-year-old Slippery Rock man, who police did not identify, was found with suspected marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop on Route 422 just west of Route 528 in Franklin Township. Police said the suspect faces unspecified drug charges following completion of their investigation.2:30 a.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Robert J. Guy III, 24, of Harrisville crashed on East Unity Road just north of Route 38 in Cherry Valley. The SUV ended up on its passenger side in a creek bed. Police said Guy faces a ticket for reckless driving.1:39 p.m. Wednesday — A Butler woman with five prior arrests for shoplifting was arrested again for the same crime after allegedly swiping three skin care items, worth a combined $27.85, at the Giant Eagle store, Clearview Mall in Center Township. The suspect, Dawn S. Finucan, 46, was stopped by a store employee.Finucan later was arraigned on a felony charge of retail theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
State Police, Kittanning9:43 p.m. Tuesday — Joseph C. Stockdill Jr., 46, of Adrian was arrested after he attacked three people during a domestic dispute at a home on Frenchs Corner Road in East Franklin Township.Police suspect Stockdill was intoxicated when he choked two victims and punched a third one, causing unspecified injuries. He fled but turned himself in to police the next morning.Stockdill was arraigned on two counts each of terroristic threats and simple assault, and three counts each of disorderly conduct and harassment. He was placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bail following arraignment.A police report identified the victims as Debra Stockdill, 48, Leanna Wonderling, 27, and Donovan Gauker, 28, all of Adrian. The report did not indicate the relationship between the defendant and the victims.
State Police, Clarion12:32 p.m. Tuesday — A man and boy from Emlenton were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Beaver Township. The crash happened when a sport utility vehicle driven by Derwin G. Wenner, 65, struck the back of a pickup truck that was turning on Route 208 at Veterans Way.Wenner and his passenger, Chase D. Wenner, 13, both of Emlenton and the other driver, Terry L. Raybuck, 64, of Knox, all suffered apparent minor injuries.Police cited Wenner for driving at an unsafe speed.
State Police, Mercer3:45 p.m. June 3 — Two unknown shoplifters made off with $104 in merchandise from the Claire’s store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The thieves are both described as white women.
