Patrick John McAfee, 74, of Plain Grove Township, Volant, passed away at his residence on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Pat was born in Pittsburgh on Jan. 26, 1951, to Edward W. and Margaret Ann Coward McAfee.

He married Darylee Bulann Soose on July 8, 2000.

Pat loved family and friends and was always willing to help out neighbors with anything they needed. He had a quick wit and a playful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He often babysat for family. He was a man of many interests and had a lifelong love of cars of all kinds, trains, fishing and dogs. One of his favorite things was chatting with people and hosting parties.

Pat retired after 44 years of service as a mailer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He had owned and operated a bar in Titusville called Gizmo’s and was a former part owner of what was called Maria’s in Plaingrove.

Survivors include his wife, Darylee at home; son, Patrick John McAfee II and his wife, of Pittsburgh; and daughter, Melissa McAfee and her partner, of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward; and two sisters, Margaret and Jeanne.

MCAFEE — There will be a period of visitation for Patrick John McAfee, who died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then from 3 p.m. until the time of a service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh
