Laurie Lindsay is a new reporter for the Butler Eagle, who will handle obituaries and write stories.
A resident of Sarver, she is a registered dietitian who worked for several organizations including the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Maryland, the International Life Sciences Institute in Washington, D.C., and the Dairy Nutrition Council in Chicago.
Lindsay has been a nutrition counselor, a radio show host, a writer, an editor, a conference manager, an entrepreneur and a world traveler.
Lindsay is the author of “Making the Breast of It: A Cancer Survivor Talks About Reconstructing Her Life With Resilience, Resolve, and a Robust Sense of Humor.”
She is a yoga instructor, a musician, and a member of the Sower's Chapel in Sarver.
Lindsay graduated from Penn State. She attended Freeport School District and graduated from the Academy of the New Church in Bryn Athyn, Pa.
She replaces Pat Moser, who is retiring from the Eagle.

CRANBERRY TWP — MSA announced that it has been awarded several contracts with a combined value of more than $21 million to produce self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and other protective products for fire departments in the United States, Canada and Chile.MSA also got a two-year national contract for SCBA with the Junta Nacional de Bomberos of Chile, an institution comprised of more than 37,000 volunteer firefighters and 307 fire departments in the country. The contract also includes an order for more than 1,500 fire helmets, which will be manufactured in MSA's facility in Chatillon, France.The new air masks will be produced at MSA's Murrysville facility.
CRANBERRY TWP — Westinghouse Electric has announced that UK regulators, Office for Nuclear Regulation, and Environment Agency, have granted Interim Design Acceptance Confirmation and Interim Statement of Design Acceptability to the company's AP1000 reactor design.For more than four years, regulators have scrutinized all aspects of the design to ensure that it meets UK standards.
