Will someone please explain to me why our "Leaders" keep using our tax dollars to bail out these failed companies? Shouldn't We all collectively and not the government be shareholders with a voice in each one of these failed corporations since it is our monies that are being invested (without our consent)? I find it absurd that these corporations that have been charging excessive amounts of money for their products find that they cannot cope with the changing economic climate and expect us to not only pay their ridiculous fees for their products but also fund their business as well because they were mismanaged! Personally, I feel that we should let them all fail regardless of the jobs that are lost. I believe that some other company will purchase their losses and turn them around. It will be a necessary inconvenience for a permanent solution in my opinion although I am not an economist. It seems to be the fair and natural order of things. It certainly does not seem fair that we the taxpayers have to bail out inept run businesses that have already proven that they do not have the leadership to survive in today's economy. I feel that these bailouts are only a temporary solution for a problem that is going to sooner or later come to an ugly head. We are only slowing down the process with the bailout. If by some miracle that these bailouts do work, I further think that each American should become a stockholder in all of these companies and that we should all receive profit sharing checks from each of them every quarter if they start doing well again. We further as shareholders should have a voice in each of these companies that we are backing and when a CEO does something dishonest with the company funds we should be able to oust them! Look at AIG. They received their bailouts, and them thumbed their noses at all of us by taking their CEO's on expensive company luxury retreats! They are laughing at all of us!! They should all be fired with possible jail time. I am certain that we have criminals in jails across the United States right now who are serving time for doing less than what these Corporate executives have done. When are we going to say enough is enough? I certainly think that all the job losses especially this time of the year would be terrible and cause hardship for many including myself, but I still don't think bailing out failed corporations by our government is the answer either. I feel these mismanaged companies need to take their lumps like everyone else and move on regardless of the cost. Those are the breaks and the reality of this situation as I see them. The good must be taken with the bad for the ultimate good for everyone. I think it is absurd that our government sticks its nose into the private sector, claiming it is a national security risk for these companies to fail. The milk has already been spilled. No company should have been permitted to become so large that a failure could cause a security risk. If they wanted to safe guard us that would have been the place to start and also they should have never relaxed mortgage requirements for home buyers. There is a reason why you should be required to have a minimum down payment. It shows that you are motivated, it shows that you are committed and it shows that you have an investment in your own future. Too many were let too easily in homes they couldn't afford. The banks led them by the nose because they saw the easy buck to be made on high interest mortgages. Well they gambled and lost! Obviously an error on their part. Tell me again why we should pay for their mistakes? I go on record saying that I disagree with the bailouts and think they are only postponing the inevitable, and I further think that another stimulus package which is going to be distributed soon is another waste of time. I spent my last one paying taxes what about you? The only way to get out of this mess is to get people back to work! Stop letting our jobs be outsourced. If people are working they have money to spend, it's just that simple. Regards, John
