Miller's 3 goals key Butler girls' win

Nick Kingerski and Kaleb Kuhn scored their team-leading fifth goals of the season Wednesday night as the Slippery Rock boys soccer team shut out Sharon, 4-0.

Auistin Hess and Scott Hust also scored for the Rockets (2-6-2). Colton Callen made four saves in goal to get the shutout.

Slippery Rock plays Tuesday at Greenville.

Samantha Miller scored three goals Wednesday as the Butler girls soccer team defeated North Hills, 5-1.Gabby Boden and Vanessa Drohan added single tallies for the Golden Tornado (8-1, 7-1), who host North Allegheny at 10 a.m. Saturday.<b>Seneca Valley 11, Shaler 0 —</b> The Raiders (5-2) rolled to their third successive win, outscoring their opponents 19-1 during that streak.<b>Mars 7, Montour 1 —</b> The Planets (9-0) remained unbeaten with the win. Mars hosts South Fayette Saturday.<b>Deer Lakes 5, Freeport 1 —</b> The Yellowjackets slipped to 2-4-1 and host Valley Saturday.<b>North Catholic 3, Beaver 0 —</b> The Trojanettes (6-2-1, 6-0-1) remained unbeaten in section play. North Catholic has another section game Saturday, hosting Hopewell.

Freshman Addie Rusak tallied 15 kills, 14 service points and seven blocks as Freeport defeated Knoch, 3-0. Scores were 25-15, 25-23, 25-23.Erica Lampus contributed 11 kills and five blocks for the Yellowjackets (7-2) while Josie Russo had five kills and five blocks, Emily Schmidt 12 service points and 10 assists, Ava Soilis 32 digs.Mykenzie Werner led Knoch (3-6, 2-6) with eight kills and 10 service points. Madison Raypush and Quinn Hughes had seven kills each for the Knights.Freeport travels to Hampton Tuesday.
