Josephine Ellwood
Josephine S. Stackiewicz Ellwood, 79, of Butler died Thursday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born May 16, 1928, in Wilmerding, she was the daughter of Harry and Caroline Wolan Stackiewicz.
She was a 1947 graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School. She had worked in the cafeteria at the Broadstreet Elementary School in Butler for 21 years before retiring in 1998. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two sisters, Patricia McCloskey of Colorado and Sally Stackiewicz of Adamsburg; a daughter, Barbara Ellwood McGann of Butler; three sons, Robert Ellwood of Cambridge Springs, Colby J. Ellwood of East Butler and Douglas J. Ellwood of Butler; nine grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellwood, whom she married July 17, 1948, and who died Oct. 1, 1991; three brothers, and two sisters.
<B>ELLWOOD</B> — Friends of Josephine S. Ellwood, who died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, will be received at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.
