Live Nativity scenes in Butler County
The following is a list of some live Nativity scenes scheduled to be held throughout Butler County this holiday season:
Bradford Woods Community Church will host its annual live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at 4836 Wexford Run Road in Bradford Woods.
The event is free. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served between the showings.
Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its annual live Nativity from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in front of the Concordia at Cabot Haven II building on Marwood Road. Performances are about 15 minutes long and the final show starts at about 6 p.m.
The event is free, open to the public and will feature live animals as well as Concordia staff, residents and family members. This will be an outdoor Nativity, so guests are encouraged to dress warmly.
Between performances, guests can warm up inside and enjoy Christmas music, cookies and hot chocolate. Children 12 and under will also receive a free gift and children of all ages will have a chance to visit with Santa. Those interested in taking a photo with Santa should bring their own camera.
Concordia will be supporting the food pantry needs of The Lighthouse Foundation during the Live Nativity. Guests are encouraged to bring an item to donate.
A live Nativity scene is one of the attractions of Zelienople’s annual Miracle on Main Street event, to be held Thursday, Dec. 4, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. along Zelienople’s Main Street.
The live Nativity, spearheaded by Pastors Dan and Jan Owen of the Harmony-Zelienople Global Methodist Church, has been part of the Miracle on Main since its inception in 2015. This year, the Nativity will be active between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the parking lot of New Health Solutions and will feature live animals, including a baby camel.
