Cranberry Township man accused of shooting at 3 men
A Cranberry Township man is facing charges after police said he shot at three men in the area of Cranberry Pointe Lane and Haine School Road.
Husein Kamel Almoustafa, 50, was charged Nov. 18 with misdemeanor reckless endangerment following the Oct. 19 incident.
Police said in the early October morning, they were driving south on Haine School Road responding to a call at Hilton Garden Hotel when they heard multiple gunshots and a man screaming when approaching the intersection of Cranberry Pointe Lane and Haine School Road.
Police said they exited their vehicle at the intersection and saw Almoustafa standing facing the CVS parking lot with his back to the officers. Police said they observed muzzle flashes from Almoustafa, who was shooting a firearm.
Police ordered the man at gunpoint to drop the firearm and lie down, which he did immediately. Police said he had the firearm, $1,073 in cash and two iPhones.
Police said Almoustafa explained he was sitting outside his apartment when he heard his car windshield being smashed. He told police he chased three men and fired into the air to scare them away.
Police later viewed a neighbor’s Ring camera footage that showed Almoustafa chasing and firing at the three men. They said his story of firing into the air contradicted the footage.
Police did not identify the three men in the complaint. They found Almoustafa was in possession of the firearm legally.
Almoustafa’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 9 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
