Police: Butler man threatened officers, tried to fight during disturbance on West Brady Street
A Butler man was arrested Sunday, Dec. 1, after police said he threatened officers and resisted arrest during a disturbance in the middle of West Brady Street.
Clayton James Snow, 22, was charged Monday with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of making terroristic threats, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m., when a Butler city police officer saw Snow standing shirtless in the middle of the 200 block of West Brady Street yelling at another man. Police said Snow made aggressive movements toward the man, prompting the officer to intervene.
When the officer approached, Snow turned toward her and raised a closed fist “as though he was going to hit her,” according to an affidavit. The officer backed away as Snow’s mother grabbed him to hold him back.
Additional officers arrived and ordered Snow to get on the ground, but police said he refused and pulled away as they tried to arrest him.
Once handcuffed and placed in a patrol vehicle, Snow continued shouting threats at police, according to the affidavit.
According to court records, Snow was unable to post bail and was being held at the Butler County Prison.
A preliminary hearing for Snow is scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 8 before District Judge William Fullerton.
