Woman charged after jumping in front of moving vehicle along Centerville Pike

A Slippery Rock woman is facing charges after state police said she jumped in front of a moving car and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with injuries.

Marcie Lee Williams, 49, was charged Wednesday with reckless endangerment, two counts of DUI, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for the Oct. 30 incident on Centerville Pike in Slippery Rock Township.

A trooper interviewed Williams in the hospital’s emergency department where she told the trooper she jumped into the path of a moving vehicle.

Williams told police she drove to the scene after drinking beer and parked nearby, according to the affidavit.

The woman who struck Williams told police she was driving north around 55 mph as she approached a bridge over Slippery Rock Creek and saw someone, later identified as Williams, standing on a concrete bridge barrier.

Williams jumped in front of the vehicle and was struck. The woman driving was able to slow down to 30 to 40 mph before the impact, according to the affidavit.

The vehicle was damaged in the incident, police said.
