Freda Helen McClaine

Freda Helen McClaine, 88, of Railroad Street, Marwood, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Friday in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.

Born Jan. 21, 1921, in Bradys Bend, she was the daughter of the late Fred Flowers and Bessie Magee Flowers. Freda was raised by her grandmother, Laura Magee.

Freda was a homemaker and a Protestant.

She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

She married Kenneth J. McClaine, who preceded her in death March 5, 1992.

She is survived by four sons, William John McClaine of Sarver, Keith Alan McClaine of Tampa, Fla., Joseph Kent McClaine of Marwood and Arnold Lynn McClaine of Pittsburgh; three daughters, Nancy Emery of Spokane, Wash., Judy Miller of Worthington and Sandy Henry of Kenosha, Wis.; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

She also is survived by her beloved cats and her dog, Ozzy.

She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

<B>McCLAINE</B> — Friends and family of Freda McClaine, who died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 124 E. North St. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Barnhouse of the Slippery Rock Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family of Freda McClaine suggests donations be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, 134 Marwood Road Cabot, PA 16023.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
